Unfortunately, applications for the Accounting/IT role on the 2010 VPS GRADS officially closed at midnight Friday 11th September. Applications for the 2011 intake will open mid February 2010.

Unfortunately, applications for all other roles on the 2010 VPS GRADS officially closed at 5pm on Friday 3rd April 2009. Applications for the 2011 intake will open mid February 2010.

With your permission we are able to keep your application on our GRADS database to be considered for any other opportunities that may arise later in the year and/or to be advised of the application opening date for the 2011 GRADS intake.

VPS GRADS Eligibility
Graduates or students who are due to complete their studies by January 2010, can apply for a graduate position with the Victorian Public Service Graduate Recruitment & Development Scheme (GRADS). There are 4 graduate streams:
- Accounting & Finance - requires a degree with a minimum of 30% Accounting subjects;
- Economist - requires a degree with a major in Economics;
- Generalist - requires a degree and can include a variety of disciplines - Arts & Humanities, Business, Commerce & Management, Civil Engineering, Communications/Media/PR, Environmental Science, Human Resources, Information Systems, Justice & Criminology, Law, Marketing, Public Policy, Sociology, Statistics & Geometrics, Tourism, Urban/Town Planning
- Engineering - Civil, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering.

Closing Date
Applications for roles on the 2010 intake closed at 5.00pm Friday 3rd April, 2009. Applications for the 2011 intake will open mid February 2010.
Transcript of results
Please note: An original or certified copy of your transcript of results will need to be provided if you are successful in progressing to the assessment centre stage. These must be received at our offices before your scheduled assessment centre date. Transcripts can be mailed or hand delivered to LINK Recruitment 7/525 Collins Street, Melbourne 3000.
Background check
Please note: If you are successful in obtaining an offer of employment you may be required to undergo a background check. This is a mandatory employment policy that applies to certain departments and agencies.
Application process
Stage 1 - Word version
To enable you to draft your answers prior to applying on-line, it is recommended that you first print the word version of the application form. (This can be found below).
Stage 2 - On-line application
It is expected that you will need to allow approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to complete the application form on-line.
The application form can be commenced, saved and re-accessed at a later date using your individual secure username and password.
It is highly recommended that:
- you complete your personal details and then press the button 'Save Application for Completion Later' before continuing; and
- you regularly save your application by pressing the 'Save Application for Completion Later' button, as the system has a 3 hour time out limit. Any unsaved work may be lost if the system time limit is exceeded.
Please Note:
The first time you press the 'Save Application for Completion Later' button, please allow up to 15 minutes for your registration to process before reaccessing your application.
As the application close date draws near, we anticipate periods of heavy usage of this on-line system. Accordingly, we recommend you complete your application as early as possible before the close date and that you regularly save your application whilst completing it.
Stage 3 - Submitting your completed application
Please review your final application prior to submitting on-line. To ensure the information input at your final session is saved correctly, you need to press the 'Save Application for Completion Later' button and then reaccess your application to press the 'Complete Application' button.
Stage 4 - Confirmation
An email will be sent to your nominated email address to confirm receipt of your application.
Login
Before commencing your application on-line you must first register onto our system. You will need to enter a Username & Password. Remember these to return to an incomplete application. Your user name & password will allow you to re-access an incomplete application anytime prior to the application closing date. They will also enable you to view the status of a completed application and/or to update your personal details. Please retain your username and password for future access.
Please Note:
If you have applied for a previous intake of the VPS GRADS you will need to logon as a ' first time user' and add the numbers 09 after your surname, (for example, username: Sally Smith09), as the system will not allow you to use the same username twice.
Status of your application and/or updating your personal details
Throughout the recruitment process you will be able to view the current status of your application and/or update your personal details if required. To view your application status or to amend your personal details please log on to http://www.linkhrconsulting.com.au/VPSGrads2009, using your allocated username and password.
